Last week we got to speak with the great Wayne Brady about his upcoming show, “Trust Us with Your Life” premiering Tuesday, July 10th on ABC TV.
Wayne was very entertaining during our chat and we wanted to share some of the reasons we enjoy this entertainer by including some fun videos of him below. Be sure to tell us about your favorite Wayne Brady moment in the comments.
What’s apparent about Wayne is – everyone loves him. We asked him about his ability to transcend the age of his audience and reach kids and adults alike. He said it made him feel very “lucky” to do this. We agree – it’s a rare talent.
He sings, he dances, he’s an Emmy-award winning actor, a grammy-nominated recording artist and improv king. He’s still got a huge future ahead of him (yes, we said it) and he told us he hopes to always work – and who knows, we believe he has the talent to bring that EGOT home!
Wayne tells us he wanted to be an entertainer from a very early age but didn’t know how to go about it. He was inspired by the musical “On the Town” with Sammy Davide Jr., Ernie Kovacs, Sid Cesar and Harry Belafonte. But he was raised in a “tough area” where he felt he had to just kept his head down and not call attention to himself. It wasn’t until high school that he got the nerve to get on stage and was hooked from there, getting his big break on “Who’s Line is it Anyways.”
With shows like “Who’s Line is it Anyways” Wayne has a huge, international following and wanted to “move forward” and bring a new element to his fans and audiences, hence the creation of “Trust Us with Your Life” where “Boom! you have weird, awesome funny scenes based on things you didn’t know, about the celebrity guest.”
