ICYMI: Voting is Open for the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards, Performer Update, How-to-Vote #RDMAs

RDMAs 2017

It’s just a little over a month before the Radio Disney Music Awards take place in Los Angeles, so we wanted to share the nominee list, who is performing, how-to-vote and who is being honored with you.

Here’s what we know about performers at this year’s Radio Disney Music Awards:

  • Multi-Grammy Award-winning band Train will perform their latest hit “Play That Song”

Also scheduled to perform at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards

  • Grammy Award-nominee Kelsea Ballerini
  • Multiplatinum recording artist, Alessia Cara
  • Broadway’s “Hamilton” star and Hollywood Records recording artist Jordan Fisher

Honorees for this year

Multiplatinum recording artist, songwriter, actor and philanthropist Nick Jonas will receive the ‘Hero’ Award from Jack Black at the 2017 Radio Disney Music Awards (RDMA). Nick was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was 13 years old and helped found Beyond Type 1, a non-profit organization which leverages the power of social media and technology to provide resources for those living with Type 1 diabetes, and provides funding for research, education, advocacy and programs to improve the lives of those living with Type 1 diabetes.

Nick is also nominated in three categories at the 2017 RDMA, including “He’s The One – Best Male Artist.”

Also being recognized will be two youth leaders, who will receive the RDMA Heroes for Change Award. This special award is a part of Disney’s citizenship efforts, Be Inspired.

  • Natalie Hampton, of Los Angeles, created, Sit With Us, Inc., a free mobile app to help empower kids find a lunch mate so they don’t eat alone, and stop getting bullied.
  • Jocelyn Woods of San Jose, was inspired by her childhood to found the Under-represented Teen Advocacy Program (U.T.A.P), a program that connects Bay- area teens in need with available services.

Radio Disney has also partnered with the Give a Note Foundation and American Girl® to highlight the importance of music during a special moment in the show.
