Calling all LA Kings and LA Galaxy fans! Uber has become the official rideshare and transportation partner for 27 AEG venues. This of course includes STAPLES, L.A. Live and StubHub Center.
So what does this mean for Los Angeleno sports fans? Uber along with the team venues will enhance the fan experience by creating convenience and further safety to get you to your favorite games. Uber rides will be easier with special access to events and facilities. There will be newly designated pick up and drop off zones ensuring you get to and from your ride as smoothly as possible. There will even be in venue perks for team fans and Uber riders.
Amy Friedlander Hoffman, head of experiential marketing at Uber, said, “Uber already plays a big part in a fan’s game day, concert, or event experience by getting you there safely and on time. This partnership with select AEG venues takes that experience to a whole different level. Now, fans will have access to new perks, designated pick-up and drop-off spots and exclusive promotions – creating the best event experiences for all fans.”
To celebrate the launch of this partnership, Uber sent NHL hall of famer and current President of Business Operation for the LA Kings, Luc Robitaille, to surprise LA King fans in their Uber rides! He gave the delighted fans hockey quizzes while taking their rides and left them with signed official merchandise.
To take advantage of this new partnership simply download Uber’s mobile app, enter STAPLES Center, L.A. Live or StubHub Center and tap request. A dedicated Uber driver will arrive shortly and take you to the designated drop-off “Uber Zone.” On the way home, fans simply go to the dedicated pick-up “Uber Zone,” open the app and instantly request a ride with the tap of a button.
Who knows? You might get a surprise visit from a sport’s legend on your next ride to the STAPLE center. Watch the video below to see how unsuspecting fans react to riding with Luc Robitaille.
