69th Emmy Awards

Last night, the Red Carpet Report team were in the audience at this year’s 69th Emmy Awards and were waiting to hear our favorites (and those we voted on) win.

Stephen Colbert did a great job with the opener and we were even surprised with Sean Spicer coming out during the program, shocking many of the performers and shows who have mocked him including Melissa McCarthy, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live.

Our favorite presenter pair of the night were Norman Lear and Carol Burnett, who together total 125 years of making us laugh!

We were also very excited about the two female lead shows who won Emmys, “Big, Little, Lies” on HBO and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” on Hulu… and there was no real surprise for Julia-Louis Dreyfus winning for Veep and finally, Elizabeth Moss, won best actress for her role in “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

We don’t want to forget the wins by FX’s “Atlanta” with Donald Glover… So happy for him!! Which our team covering the FOX After-party captured below.

Then, there is the first Emmy win for an African-American woman, Lena Waithe, for “Master Of None,” in the best writing for a comedy.

We were sad that “This is Us” didn’t get more wins… but we loved this acceptance speech from Sterling K. Brown.

Oh and finally, the President won his Emmy… oh, wait, that’s Alec Baldwin, who won for his reprisal of #45 on Saturday Night Live.

We’re posting the winners and by the numbers to check out who is leading in Emmys… the shift is here. Tell us who you were excited for winning and who you thought should have won too!
