When it comes to awards show season in Los Angeles, the red carpet is as big a business as the box office itself. It’s important for celebrities to put their best foot forward and it takes a village to put a look together. That’s where Paul Norton, Joico Celebrity Hairstylist, steps in to help stars like Robin Wright, Gina Rodriguez, the Bella Twins, Adrien Brody and Brooke Shields for all of those on and off-camera styles.
Norton, who recently left Sally Hershberger’s salon to open his own studio in West Hollywood, created looks for both Wright and her daughter, Dylan Penn, for the 69th Emmy Awards last Sunday. Wright was an Emmy nominee for House of Cards, so all eyes were on the star on the red carpet.
“We decided to be bold and cut a sexy long fringe resting just above the eyes to give us a more updated sexy feeling,” says Norton. “I wanted a minimal amount of volume in her freshly cut fringe to keep the vibe alluring.”
As Joico’s Celebrity Hairstylist, he used products like Joico Hair Shake to create texture with her style and Joico Flip Turn hairspray to finish the look. For the 26-year-old Penn, Norton gave her a next-level blowout using Joico Joiwhip and IRONCLAD Thermal Protectant Spray.
For those who are looking for celebrity-inspired hair, Norton’s new salon offers five-star privacy, to go along with his master artistry skills. The space is soothing and decorated in a soft palette with natural lighting and a second level, offering facials, spray tans and makeup services.
Getting the Norton and Joico experience is a special treat and I was lucky enough to get a sample of his work. Before my trim, a Joico K-Pak Color Therapy treatment was in order to hydrate my dry ends and give my hair some luster.
Norton added a bit more angle to my long bangs to frame my face, trimmed my ends and cleaned up my overall cut. He then gave me a blowout, styled my hair with soft waves and finished it off with Joico products.
